This band does not have easy listening material for first time listeners by any means. I find it hard to recommend this band to people.I first heard their music from their song He of Cloven Hoof from a seperate album.
I'd like to label this band's music as weirdly healing to me as an individual with religious trauma. "comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable" type of music. Their occasional shrieky type vocals is the perfect edge needed to balance out normal ones. Their instruments they use also supports the rest of the music, like how the actual cake part supports the frosting.
Their music has themeing of the flaws about existing as a sinful human, as a vengeful god watches down on you that's ready to smite you down from judgement. Crooked Man is a perfect song example from this album that describes that.
I've realized I included a lot of TPB's songs into a lot of OC playlists I have, specifically OCs with religious trauma too LMAOOO...
