As of July 9th 2025, Headlocker released a side game of 404 called MXM 404. DO NOT get it mixed up with the base game.
This game takes place before the main events of Monster X Mediator, where you play as one of 404's previous victims. It's extremely short, and only has 2 endings. There are also no good endings. You will die no matter what.
It has SO MUCH triggering content, as the dev clearly outlines every single one on her page, thank god. Remember when I said the dev makes shit with taboo subjects? Well, since she's a traumatized individual and kind of makes whatever she wants, this is one of those games of hers.
However, I am so serious when I say that this game is SO unserious. Personally, this game wasn't my cup-of-tea. It's only worth playing if youre grossily obsessed with 404 and don't mind the trigger warnings lol.
I read the script of this game, and uh... it has a totally different tone without the bg music. (it's still played up as unserious though)
I do like some of the still images in this side-game,SOME...
I must repeat, DO NOT MIX UP MXM 404 WITH MONSTER X MEDIATOR!! THEY ARE NOT THE SAME GAME!
