Johnny the Homicidal Maniac(JTHM) is a series of comics about, well, what the name suggests.

It's the first comic ever written by Jhonen Vasquez, the creator of Invader Zim. He's also written the sequals to it about the side characters, I Feel Sick and Squee!. JTHM started as a comic strip he made for high school, which got..rejected... to no surprise. He's continued to draw the comics for him and his friends, then later got to publish it under Slave Labor Graphics in 1995. His comics were featured in Hot Topic as well.

Johnny (Nny for short) is the main character. He's a serial killer, who hears and sees voices in his head. As the name suggests him as a "maniac", you can assume the kind of mentally ill person, written under Jhonen's humor. He kills people, most of the time, for simply pissing him off. He feels like people have to die for one reason or another, wether they deserve it or not.

The story follows him as he commits different murders under his own psychological delusions and possible supernatural forces.

I'm wondering how much I should tell to avoid spoilers.... I'll try to keep most of the info as vauge as I can, but give some kind of idea what happens I guess.

There's different characters he meets, including a small young boy (nicknamed Squee), his neighbor, who he breaks into his house in the beginning of the story to find some bactine, lmfao.

He's had a love interest, and another character that challenges his perspectives.

He also gets to explore the afterlife, causes chaos, and returns back to earth. The story doesn't have a real ending, and I really dont think Jhonen is intended to finish it tbqh. However, it's implied he's visited Squee at the asylum, and has had a twitter account?? (which later got suspended... rip)
