If you've been looking at my old fanart, you may see a previlant image of a silhouetted Johnny with red eyes, or mentioning something called "poison", explain that for you here.

My hyperfixation on this comic as a teen was very big. To the point that I felt like it was taking over me, or at least thats how it appeared to me lol. I wasn't a kid who liked gore or violence (other than what was in the Ghost Rider 2007 movie). Before JTHM, it was Sonic, and a few other child-friendly fictional interests. Being with obsessed with something like this felt like it was turning me into a bad person or something, to be honest.

As a teenager, barely understanding what a hyperfixation was, or not even knowing I had ADHD, I labeled my very special fixation to a name.

Poison

My fixation was so grand, it felt like there was like, a black goopy substance sticking to the crevices of my brain. Closing my eyes and seeing the black and white setting of the JTHM comic world. Having thoughts about wanting to kill my mean and rude classmates. It only felt logical to me to label it a word that means something that makes you sick.

I would use this new label I made to my friends, and they would even use it too. Seeing a friend recite a quote from the comic, I'd sigh and go "Oh no... the poison took hold of them." Which seems kinda funny to me now as an adult, but to me as a kid it was a very real thing for me.

This is my all-time favorite comic cover. The colors are absolutely stunning, and the silhouetted Johnny, standing in the distance looking closer to a horror movie monster than an actual protagonist. It also haunted me as a kid. This cover would unnerve me to my core, and make me spooked to the point of thinking that I see the silhouetted Johnny in the dark at night.

And that my friends, is what Poison would look like personified as some sort of creature. On a mission to courrupt the minds of my friends and I. Turning us to kill or something LMFAO...

... which never fucking happened as you can imagine. LMFAOOO...
